My own interpretations of some of the early covers in Big Finish’s range of Doctor Who CDs. I did them for practice mainly, not because I thought the original artwork was bad (it wasn’t).
Some more random bits and pieces, done for the hell of it or because I was asked for them.
Various covers for odd Doctor Who stories. Some of them very odd. (Right-click and open each cover in a new tab or window and you’ll find they’re bigger than they appear.)
Wallpapers, offcuts, clean DVD art, Banto Zame. Can never have too much Biggins. Or cleavage.

Hi Colin,
Brilliant looking site – your design work always has a unique style. Your BF and other art work is fascinating and superlative. Your talent always shone through in Circus (I will never forget the alphabetti spaghetti!) and is just as beautiful here.Best wishes,

Hi Colin,
Fantastic website married with a portfolio of stunning, original work.

Regarding the Big Finish covers… some of them scream “LISTEN TO ME” at me, but I just can’t listen to an audio story without getting distracted. But regardless of that, I can still sit here and look in amazement at your stuff! I’ve googled the original covers just to compare and these are simply stunning and much better than some of the actual ones. My favourites of yours are “The Sirens of Time”, “The Apocalypse Element”, “The Fires of Vulcan”, “Minuet in Hell” and “The One Doctor”.
Similar comments regarding the other Big Finish “oddments”, especially with your amazing “Nightmare Fair” cover!
If I comment on the rest, it’ll just be a paragraph of “awesome”, “brilliant”, “amazing”, “awesome”, etc. So you get the idea!
Great work

BRILLIANT STUFF M8, KEEP THEM COMING

Hi,
Love the covers! I’ve been replacing the original Big Finish ones on my files with yours; more please! Absolutely wonderful.
-
I just love the covers you made, I think Big Finish should hire you to make their cover from now on. I do hope you plan to make more, but I do have one special request. Could you make a cover for “Spare Parts”, that is one of my favorites.
-
I love the artwork Colin!
As has been mentioned in a thread on the Big Finish forum it’d be nice if there were individual covers for the one-part stories:
Urgent Calls
Urban Myths
The Vanity Box
Mission of the Viyrans
Spider’s Shadow
Keepsake
A Perfect World
& the upcoming Klein’s StoryAnd I’m making a request for these, in the Big Finish style please, I would really appreciated and I know a few of my fellow BF forum goers would too.
Mention has also been made of the one-part stories:
Circular Time: Spring
Circular Time: Summer
Circular Time: Autumn
Circular Time: Winter
100: 100 BC
100: My Own Private Wolfgang
100: Bedtime Story
100: 100 Days of the Doctor
Forty Five: False Gods
Forty Five: Order of Simplicity
Forty Five: Casualties of War
The Company of Friends: Benny’s Story
The Company of Friends: Fitz’s Story
The Company of Friends: Izzy’s Story
& The Company of Friends: Mary’s StoryI’m not fussed about those and to be honest I think they’d just be a whole lot of work on your part for nothing but the above list I do implore you to consider.
Thanks and your portfolio is very impressive.
Brian (not my real name, but it’s nice isn’t it?)

Fantastic Artwork can’t wait to see more

These covers for Big Finish stories are amazing! You’ve done really nice work on them. I’ve just replaced the original ones on my ipod with yours!
Could you do Zagreus? If its not too much to ask of course. -
I also think your DW covers are superb. I have a request though: could you do one for “Freakshow”, the recent free BF download? After your “One Small Step” cover, I have high hopes…
Cheers
-
great covers i have also replaced the ones on my ipod with yours and would request a zagreus one as well
-
Hey, Simply fantastic work! Have you considered maybe doing covers for Big Finish releases that were never given proper ones. I’m thinking the Fifth Doctor adventure ‘Cuddlesome’ and the Companion Chronicle ‘Freakshow’. Just a suggestion, you’ve done so much for us already!
-
Don’t know what to say really apart from quite, quite stunning.
-
I was looking for a Minuet in Hell cover via google and yours was the second results. “Oh” I thought, ” they must have updated that old boring/creepy cover with a more exciting one.
Really great work on all of these. Some are indeed improvements over the original. You’re stretching your source material pretty well (something Big Finish cover creators, and classic Who DVD cover makers for that matter, likely have to deal with constantly).
-
OMG I love these please do more espicially the Sylvestor MacCoy!!! Love these so much better than the originals
